Grading Scale
With the 2015-16 school year, Crossroads adopted the 10-point grading scale along with the state of North Carolina. Prior to that year, grades were calculated on a 7-point scale.
Grading Scale – This sign is posted in each classroom.
GPA for High School Transcripts: The Way It Works
- A = 4 points (Honors = 5 points for a weighted GPA)
- B = 3 points (Honors = 4 points for a weighted GPA)
- C = 2 points (Honors = 3 points for a weighted GPA)
- D = 1 points (Honors = 2 points for a weighted GPA)
- F = 0 points
Add up all the points you earn based on your grades and divide by the credit per class to get your GPA. Honors classes earn an extra point.
For a quick example, look at these four classes:
- Bible – A (4 points) – 1 credit
- Honors English – B (3 points on an unweighted scale, 4 points on a weighted scale) – 1 credit
- Math – C (2 points) – 1 credit
- PE – A (4 points but this is a 0.5 credit course)
