CCS Art Festival – 2022
Reported by Annette Newbern, Art Teacher:
Please join me in congratulating our CCS students on their participation in the 2022 ACSI East Coast District Virtual Art Festival. We competed with 8 different schools from New York State all the way down to Florida. CCS had students from Kindergarten-12th grade enter some amazing artwork. Due to our virtual platform, the awards were given quite differently than in years past. Typically, students were awarded (13 total BESTS OF SHOW – 1 from each grade). This year, they awarded (4 total BESTS OF SHOW – 1 per K-3rd, 1 per 4th-6th, 1 per 7th-8th, and 1 per 9th-12th). This year’s competition was fierce!
Elementary Competition:
There were a total 103 pieces of artwork submitted from all schools at the elementary level K-6. I want to give a Shout Out to the following students for OUTSTANDING work:
- James Reagle had the best overall kindergarten score.
- Lila Johnson scored second best in 1st grade.
- Culbree Paschall tied for the best piece in 2nd grade.
- Hannah Etheridge & Adalynn Harmon tied each other for the best artwork in 3rd grade.
Middle & High School Competition:
There were a total of 98 pieces of artwork submitted from all schools at the MS/HS level.
