Spiritual Life
Lower school students meet for chapel time each Tuesday morning. Music and visiting chapel speakers are part of this special time. All lower school students have weekly Bible memory verses as part of their lessons.
Upper school (7th-12th) students meet for discipleship on Thursdays in a variety of settings. Regular large group chapel meetings in the cafetorium meet every few weeks allowing time for students to meet in small discipleship groups as well as with their houses in the weeks between. During the 45 minutes of chapel, students join their voices in singing praise, join their hearts in prayer, and join their minds as they listen to the Word of God proclaimed. Chapel is an encouraging break from the normal daily routine at CCS. Upper school students also have weekly memory verses as part of their Bible classes.
During the year, the upper school students enjoy a Spiritual Emphasis Week. This is a time to refocus our lives on the one thing that truly matters above all else. During Spiritual Emphasis Week a speaker will daily encourage the students, through an extended chapel, to not live as “typical teenagers” but to live lives worthy of their calling in Christ Jesus.
Seniors lead the student body in prayer for SYATP (See You at the Pole), an international day of prayer in September.
